Poured a clear copper color. Very weak head with a gray ting. Hops predominate in the odor, but citrus is there along a touch of fruit. Flavor is much the same with a lot of fruits. A little bit sweet overall. Not much carbonation, and an odd palate. Decent finish. A very average Pale Ale.

On tap at BridgePort, sampled 4 August 2004. This was originally served to me in a tulip glass as their cask-conditioned barleywine, but the furious movements of my pen led to the realization I was actually rating Pintail Ale. Clear copper body with a thin off-white head. Musty, earthy fruit aroma with light caramel and toast. Caramely flavor with light fruit notes, toast, and some bittering hops. Boring but not terrible.

RBSG 2004 on tap: Malty grainy aroma, clear orange with a small white head. Watery fizzy mouth feel that starts and ends lightly sweet.

Tap. Orange, bright, pretty clear. Some soap in the aroma, followed by a citrus flavor, especially lemons and oranges.

Pretty bottle. Not much head. Average taste. Drinkable if it’s really really cold. Glad I didn’t pay for this.

Bottle Pours a nice copper/amber with a decent head that lingers for a bit leaving some stubborn lacing. Lightly roasted rain and hops are the aromas. Bread and hops are the first flavors but then a darker smokey flavor comes through. Otherwise plain and straightforward. Finsih is clean, light and a slight bitterness that I expect.

Tap@Bridgeport. Slightly stronger in flavour than the Blue Herron. Lemony and bready, hoppy, medium bitter finish.
