A bit woody almost. Flavor is malty with some spices and floral hops. A touch of spicy alcohol. Body is different. Watery, but not thin. Palate is a touch hoppy and spicy and the finish is slightly bitter. Brodie (540), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 21, 2004 Grassy, herbal hop aroma. Copper color, white head. Flavor is quite hoppy, similar to the aroma. Very little malt character in this beer. Kind of watery. Medium body. OK beer, too thin and lacking malt to support the hops. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2004 Has a orange copper color. Sharp aroma of malts and hops. Initial taste grabs you. Crisp, semi-sweet, smooth and bitter. Not expecting the tart aftertaste that lingers for too long. Beer is appetizing but becomes pale and stale when all is said and done. Nice effort. dankitydancer (58), Arizona, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 7, 2004 I want to love this beer, but there's not much to it. Kind of run-of-the-mill as NW APAs go. Balanced, but utterly uncomplex. I agree with Gusler, the front is sweet and malted, but the lightness had me losing interest before I got to the finish. Entirely drinkable, but I'd look for it on sale. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2004 The color translucent amber color with the head pythonic in size, spumous in texture and the color a very light tan as it slowly disintegrates a thick and clinging sheet of lace is formed upon the glass. Sweet malt dominates the front of this nose, under lying is a slight lime like aroma, crisp, clean and refreshing to the senses, start is lightly sweet, adequately malted, top is light in feel. Finish is strict in its acidity, the hops present but unassuming in their spiciness, quite dry and lingering aftertaste, a drinkable beer from a favorite brewery, may need to sample a few of these to get a real feel for them, but a light as it is, a good lawnmower beer, nuttin’ wrong with that. It's ok, not bad or anything; there is just not much there to distinguish it. I wouldn't turn one down though. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

Some malts in the aroma that smell broken down. More banana-ish. this may have been an old bottle. From what i got, its more a blonde ale than a pale.
