Not up to the standard of its regular Porter, it’s still a solid outing. Musty and fumey throughout, from nose to throat and beyond. Much like an Imperial Stout but with a lighter, cleaner body.

Tasted on tap at Bridgeport Brewing. First, a cheat on this one. Our bartender insisted on throwing a shot of espresso into the beer. Gave a huge "pop" to this beer, and made it as aggressive a "coffee" porter as I have ever had. While not into gimmicks, I would recommend trying this one.

Bottle thanks to Mar via hannont. Black brown pour with a small tan head. NOse is boozy, port, raisins, and the wine notes come across like late harvest desert wine. Taste is pepper, dark malty, bitter, chocolate, a bit spicy. Pretty good.

Bottle thanks to riversideAK. Pours black with a tan head. Heavy carbonation. Aroma is of smoke, chocolate, caramel, malt, oak, cherries, and booze. Taste is of malt, chocolate, oak, vanilla, and dark fruit. Has many wine characteristics. Has a lot of dark fruit to it and the finish is very dry. Thick mouthfeel. This is not much of a porter, but it is damned good. Lingering booze bite.

Velvety brown pour, huge tan head that fades quickly. Aroma of bourbon, grapes and a little oak. Cold it tastes heavily of vanilla, warmer it fades to heavy bourbon notes and milder vanilla and coffee flavors. Slightest hint of grape. One of the best aftertastes of any beer I’ve ever had, creamy and vanilla laden. Awesome label with the 3d glasses and all.

208 Bottle - Pours an opaque brown black with a sizeable tan head...aroma is roasted wood, grain and coffee...smokey in the mouth, I didn’t get too much of either barrell, but this was a sweet, sweet Imperial Porter...

bottle by way of riversideak... it pours with a dark brownish black body yet it is still dark orange at the edges. a soft hot cocoa colored head sits atop and leaves behind slug-like trails of lacing. the aroma is barrel forward with the porter playing a secondary role... smoke, vinous/grapes/raisins, chocolate, scalded cream, coffee, spice, flowers and cotton candy/vanilla. nice cuvee of flavors and balance of barrels... the palate is so soft while the finish is prickly and acidic. flavors in between of smoky wood, vanilla, dried fruit, vinous/red wine, bittersweet chocolate, barrel spice, roasted malt, coffee and a dry woody finish. the body is on the thin side of medium but creamy carbonation and an acidic feeling more than make up for it. nice! 8/4/8/4/17/4.1

Almost completely black ale ( some brown hues do show through, a great thick brown head, followed by luscious lace. Strong roasted malt aromas, kinds boozy in a good way. Bitter to begin with but smoothes out quite well, has some fruitiness near end, dark coffee, raisins, liquorice. Pretty nice and refeshing on the tongue, this feels quite well carbonated but doesnt make it "thin". Overall a nice Impy Porter from Bridgeport..more drinkable than most but not top of the class
