Commercial Description:
Ropewalk is a mellow, malt-driven amber that dances a subtly sweet line. The balance of Crystal malt with a subtle dose of Northwest hops delivers a refreshing ale that makes for a great session beer. Originally brewed to mark our 20th anniversary, Ropewalk – which literally means “a long narrow building where rope is made” – is a tribute to our building’s roots as a rope factory, while also celebrating feats of daring everywhere.

This is pretty good for a so-called "amber ale," a type which I often find to be bland and subdued. It is red amberwith a big tan head steadily shrinking to a thin top and a hint of lace. The aroma is tasty stewed prunes, bread, hints of caramel, leaves, herbs, and wine. The taste is similar, being zesty, herbal/leafy bread, hint of caramel, fruit, pine, and ginger ale. As with many, it is smooth and drnikable, but it is more tasty, complex, and interesting than many of this ilk and quite satisfying, It also goes pretty well with food.

Draft. An amber beer with a slight haze under a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet malty with caramel being the strongest note, but also lighter notes of fruits and spices.

amber pour with no head, kind of has an off flavor of bubble gum, weird and I am not entirely sure that I enjoy it

A little dissapointing in taste, but tolerable. Pours a clear bright amber colour with a small white head. aroma is nutty, with caramel, ginger and toffee flavors. Mouthfeel is pretty light. finishes weak and a little watery.

I keep searching to find a really great Amber Ale that I can call my own. I just discover that most beers in this style just don’t fit my taste and Ropewalk can be added to the list of dissapointments. Taste is coppery mettalic with a stale peanuts vibe. Overall, just a bland drink that falls flat in the character department.
