Commercial Description:
Ropewalk is a mellow, malt-driven amber that dances a subtly sweet line. The balance of Crystal malt with a subtle dose of Northwest hops delivers a refreshing ale that makes for a great session beer. Originally brewed to mark our 20th anniversary, Ropewalk – which literally means “a long narrow building where rope is made” – is a tribute to our building’s roots as a rope factory, while also celebrating feats of daring everywhere.

Medium sized light tan head with a fair retention and a bit of droopy lacing. Lightly hazy amber/brown color. Light grainy nose with some caramel notes. Light body, thin. A dry maltiness, hints of caramel, nutty and dirty. Finish is dry, grainy. An easy quaff. Thanks Stephen.

After 20 years of walking the highwire of craft brewing, BridgePort brews a macrobrew! Bright amber colour. Nondescript "amber" aroma, so mainly caramel and not so much hop, maybe vague malts. Bland, light, caramelly character. Sweetish accent. maybe some hints of toast. So standard, so boring, so by-the-numbers. The only feat of daring here would be to drink a second one.

Pretty underwealming as far as flavour and aroma. I deffinatly expected more out of a great brewery like them. I can get Killians cheaper and it’s just as good.

On tap, amber red with a large off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is roasy bread and a hint of hops. Well balanced malt bill. There is a little bit of hops but mostly malts. Thin body and a malty, creamy palate. Finishes off with a small amount of maltiness.

An extremely light and watery beer that goes down easy. It’s also real easy on the hops for an amber ale. More of a mild ale, I guess. If you like a lawnmower ale, this is the one to try, though I’d be pleased to see them beef this beer up with a little malt.

Orangey color with a thin white head. Not much caronation at all here, actually. Carmel sweetness for aroma. Flavors were a otuch roasty, along with a general sweet profile. run of the mill.

(Bottle) Pours an orange-amber body with a single string of carbonation up the middle of the glass. Malty, warm with a whiskey flavour. Somewhat bland to my tastebuds. The nose was much more enjoyable than the flavour. Many thanks Lubiere for sharing this.
