Commercial Description:
Ropewalk is a mellow, malt-driven amber that dances a subtly sweet line. The balance of Crystal malt with a subtle dose of Northwest hops delivers a refreshing ale that makes for a great session beer. Originally brewed to mark our 20th anniversary, Ropewalk – which literally means “a long narrow building where rope is made” – is a tribute to our building’s roots as a rope factory, while also celebrating feats of daring everywhere.

Medium bodied amber ale. Medium head. Aroma is dark fruit, malts and touches of molasses. A medium bodied amber. Malts are fruity and sweet, touches of molasses. Hops are slightly spicy and grapefruity. Fairly smooth tasting. Nicely balanced. A little hoppier than your typical amber, but its still a typical amber. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Tap. I dont see why this is a special brew that they built marketing around. A dead-average amber without any significant flavors, that leaves me struggling for much of a description.

Dark ruby red body, nice white head. Caramel and maltiness are the dominant flavors. Beer is somewhat sweet. Not the greatest amber, not the worst. Better than Fat Tire.

Pours a deep amber red with a large off white rocky head with fair lacing. Nice malty aroma. Some roast, a little bit of warm biscuits. Just a slight hint of hops in the nose. Well balanced malt bill. The roasts blend in nicely with the base malts and the biscuit is back again with a mellow backing. There is just a whisper of hops in the flavor that makes it very balanced. Slight pepperyness to it. Thin body and a malty, creamy palate. Finishes off with a lick of bitterness.

Nice color with an cream colored head. Not a ton of aroma, hints of malt. Light flavors of malt and with a touch of hops. Very watery finish. Not one of their best.

malty - but not a lot of character. balanced towards the sweet side - could use some hops or something to offset it. nothing really stands out. very average micro-macro brew amber.

A fairly thick sticky head with some good retention and lacing properties. The aroma has some light pineapple and some earthy crystal malts. The flavor is watery, boring. Finishes with a touch of dry astringency and a light nutty body and mouthfeel. Not even thought provoking.

Pours with an average, creamy head, leaves some decent lacing; roasted caramel malt aroma, no hops detected; some toasted malt flavor, a bit watery, but somewhat flavorful, not much hopping, slightly dry finish; needs more hops, and body.....a mild brew from an otherwise outstanding brewery.
