Commercial Description:
Ropewalk is a mellow, malt-driven amber that dances a subtly sweet line. The balance of Crystal malt with a subtle dose of Northwest hops delivers a refreshing ale that makes for a great session beer. Originally brewed to mark our 20th anniversary, Ropewalk – which literally means “a long narrow building where rope is made” – is a tribute to our building’s roots as a rope factory, while also celebrating feats of daring everywhere.

12oz bottle: aroma is pretty malty nothing special. pours a nice amber color with a slight off white head. flavor doesnt have as much carmel as i think a amber should have and is pretty pale. goes down pretty smooth but is more of a sipper. an alright beer but wouldnt get again. bridgeport brewin co. could really work on this beer.

Smells sweet, almost like a honey aroma. It pours fairly cloudy, and looks a little like apple cider. There is little or no head. The taste is pretty smooth, very fruity and sweet with hints of malt. The finish is pretty boring, and somewhat disappointing. It tastes good though, and is an easy drinking experience.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a thin head that diminished quickly to nothing. Overpowering malt on the nose. Fizzy palate and flavors sugary malt, and a mild citrus character. This one was hard for me to finish. I love bridgeport, but this is their worst brew.

on tap-pours a thin off white head and amber color. Aroma is medium malt-sweet caramel, slight acidic sharpness. Taste is medium malt-very sweet caramel, slight acidic sharpness from the hops-slightly bitter. Finishes dry. Light/medium body. OK effervescence.

Had this beer on 5/22/2004. Aroma is a full sweet malt scent. Color is a true amber with good carbonation and a thin head. Taste is sweet and fluffy. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down with a fizzy feel. Finish comes on with a sweetness and a smooth malt feel that make it seem fluffy or foamy. On the very end there is a very mild bitterness to balance it out a bit. It just seems a bit too smooth for an Amber.

re-rated: old rating 3.0. pours a clear orange amber with a thin egg-shell head. smell is faint malt, burnt caramel, just a hint of citrus, dry leaves, nuts. taste is thin, caramel, roasted malts, touch of brown sugar, bit of lemon, some iron, a little bitter on the back end.

Bottle. A mild bodied amber ale. A mediocre ale with not a distinct taste. Nothing too special here. Typical amber ale.
