Commercial Description:
Ropewalk is a mellow, malt-driven amber that dances a subtly sweet line. The balance of Crystal malt with a subtle dose of Northwest hops delivers a refreshing ale that makes for a great session beer. Originally brewed to mark our 20th anniversary, Ropewalk – which literally means “a long narrow building where rope is made” – is a tribute to our building’s roots as a rope factory, while also celebrating feats of daring everywhere.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and lightly hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of toasted malts, lightly fruity and some caramel. Tastes of caramel, apples, and toasted malts. On the sweeter side. Thin body bordering on watery.

Bottle. Full body mouthfeel, beautiful copper color. The banana taste is more apparant than other flavors, though cider, apple seeps through in the finish. Not bad, but not one of my favorites. A good try, but isnt a pack Id pick up often, maybe only to share with others for a tasting.

Bottle. Pours rich and amber with a nice head and lacing. Aroma is a nice blend of apples harvested in mid-Autumn, as well as a touch of peach. Flavor is a sour banana and a touch of peach. Thin mouthfeel. Not bad; I’d drink more.

On tap at Bridgeport, Portland. Chestnut. Thin beige head. Really banana/pineapple/green apple fruits. Bit of ginger on aroma, then banana/pineapple flavour. Oddly fruity

Fruity aromas with a nice head. Stale lagerish aromas. Nice bitterness with malt bringing up the finish.

Bottled. Pours a clear amber with a lasting, lacy head. The aroma is lightly roasted malts with sweet toffee and a hint of fruit. The body is medium with subdued carbonation. The taste is sweet with toffee and a hint of fruit. A bit of spice in the finish to keep it from wandering off into nothingness. Not much much going on here.

Not a bad tasting beer. Very artifical and sweet tasting. Like Circus Peanuts candy in a sense. Not a bad beer, and something I used to enjoy alot when I was younger. Pours dingy amber in color with a fizzy, thick head. Tastes of sweet candy and malt. A decent introduction to amber ales and the world of good beer, but not something worth picking up if you know you brew.
