| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2005 Nice robust tan head formation with a brown amber hue body. Aroma of sweet malt with hints of plum and prunes. Has a nice thick mouth feel with just the right amount of carbonation to have a soft refreshing character rather than a prickly one. Flavor starts with a bright malt flavor accompanied with a slight touch of hops and finishes with roasted malt, sweet plum, and alcohol backdrop. Overall a one of the better ambers I have had because of the heavy palate which lets the flavor of this beer have linger in your mouth and have depth. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 6, 2005 Bottle: Pours a dark copper/cola color with a light brown head. So far, so good. Following this step, something is missing. No aromas identified, overly sweet (pitted fruits with honey??) followed by a sour milk aftertaste. It tasted a little better as it warmed up. But my advice to Bridgeport is to take this off the market and find a new recipe for their amber ale. bentastic (4), USA does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 4, 2005 not much of an aroma to speak of, vaguly caramely. nice amber color, head is a little fizzy, flavor is thin. this is there original recipe from the first beer they brewed. they brought it back last year for their anniversery. i had it on cask which is much better than out of the bottle. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 10, 2005 bottle-pours a clear amber hue with medium carbonation. a small white fizzy head topped this beer that had good retention. aroma consists of notes of apples, rasin and caramel malt. Smells very similar to fat tire (a copy cat? ). WOW, this beer has lots of dms-full cardboard flavors with some malt sweetness getting in there. Paper thin body that didn’t help either. I dont know what beer my buddy dave (whaleman) had, but this is really bad! He must have had a much newer bottle, since it takes light years for beer to trickle its way to the southern part of this land of entrapment. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2005 Clear, light amber body with abundant carbonation and a rippled, medium-sized silky off-white head. Malty aroma of bread crusts with sweet and earthy notes. Toasty malt flavor with moderate sweetness and a mild hop character. Medium-thin palate. Inoffensive, but very basic.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 28, 2005 the label says: "...a tribute to our building’s roots as a rope factory and to feats of daring everywhere". as a tribute to a building, this might be a fine gesture. i dunno, i’d have to see the building-- maybe it’s a giant metal monstrosity out by the freeway. i think some rope went into the beer though. ’ropewalk’ is also analogous to straddling the fence: this doesn’t suck at all, but it doesn’t try to go anywhere or do anything. if it were a person, if you could remember him at all, you’d say he had a good heart but never said much. it’s a good looking brewski, i’ll give it that: it’s the polished teak color of a vintage criscraft, and a porridge colored head shows admirable fidelity (if i was a head i might have defected to a finer brew right away). it doesn’t seem that the brewery would need ANOTHER guppy weenie-pleaser in addition to the pintail ale, but here it is: caramel malts, predictable carb trajectory, nice sweetness, thin body, apricot, and whatever residual bitterness there is can be swept away by chewing on a toothpick. a decent session mild ale that’s about as memorable as coffee at the office. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 16, 2005 Bottle. Pours deep amber-copper color with a small off-white head that diminishes mostly. Aroma is mild and primarily malty with floral hoppy notes as well. Flavor is malty sweet with herby hops evident and an astringent finish. Light to medium body and rather assertive carbonation. Quite an average beer, but low abv helps make it an afternoon refresher. Ray1975 (251), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA
