bottle. slight hazed body, light strawberry blonde color, minimal head (white). first impressions of the nose are white candy sugar, tonic water (or sprite) and a faint touch of separated/candied all-purpose berry flavoring. approach is muted and dull. carbonation releases across the middle of the tongue and roof of the mouth, seltzer-like. faint touch of wood, faint touch of wheat and crackers, pale malt throughout. cherry presence is minimal, which is a blessing but doesn’t really make a bad beer any better. throughout the drink, from the approach to the surprisingly short and disappointing finish, it’s very muted, subdued and quiet. thing is, there’s nothing to be found if you settle in and try to evaluate this one.

A golden ale with a thin white head. Nice light aroma of barnyard, oak, epsom salt and sour cherries. In mouth, a light cooling wheat with light cork notes, sour cherries, a bit of wheat malt, some lingering sourness. Interesting and refreshing, even for a 8% beer. Bomber, 4.49$, Bottle Barn.

Sampled during Dark Lord Day 2009 near table 7. Pours a semi-clear golden orange colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of golden grain malt, some light cherry, wheat and a touch of cork. Taste is light to medium bodied, some carbonation, with flavors of wheat malt, some light cherry and a touch of yeast. Finish is a tad on the sweet side than tart per label’s description.

Reddish pour. Smells of cherry and wheat. Flavor isn’t good IMO. Cardboard to ho along with cherry and wheat and old malt flavor. Meh.

22, capped and foiled, courtesy of Hogfodder, who had it given to him in Cleveland. Oh, the tangled web of travel this beer has woven! Pours a dull, dark red with a thick and creamy pinkish head. Stale CO2 and synthetic fruit nose. Ugh. Creamy medium body. Mid-palate of stale cough syrup and synthetic something or other. Not pleasant at all. Very little finish.

I bought one of these even though I have been told that it sucks by multiple people. Well it didn’t suck, but it was devoid of any character and it wasn’t that good. Nose is of cherry, wheat, and subtle Belgian influences. I did not get any wine or barrel notes at all. Pours golden with no head and some reddish essence which I am assuming is from the cherries. A medium strong cherry flavor accompanied by soft belgian notes, and a shit crap ton of wheat. I got none of the characteristics that made last years brew so much better. Some alcohol in the finish shows up and makes this ones drinkability go down just a bit.

22oz Bomber – Gravity Beer Market – Olympia, WA
Aroma: Nice cherry aroma with the nice light wheat malt and some added spices.
Appearance: reddish golden in color, clear with a light head.
Flavor: This beer had so much going on it was hard to get the real cherry flavor. Some spices and added yeast flavors. Too much for this brew.
Palate: Dry Finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: Interesting brew this had so much going for it the flavors got lost in the mix. Cherry was there but light. There where yeast and other flavors that just got so lost in the huge mix. I was hoping for a repeat from last year.
