Commercial Description:
The pioneering spirit that made us Oregon's Oldest Craft Brewery ® is the inspiration behind our new European inspired big beautiful blonde ale, S?pris. Drawing from our heritage of fine ale craftsmanship, we pursued a fresh flavor direction that would encapsulate our history as well as our vision of bringing the best flavors of the world to your pint glass. S?pris is crafted with European two-row malt to maintain a clean, rich flavor that is delicate and immensely satisfying. The unique blend of hops from Germany, Czech Republic and Slovenia deliver a smooth flavor that contributes to the overall unique balanced dimensions S?pris offers. S?pris is naturally conditioned in the bottle and keg in the BridgePort tradition, and that’s where the similarity to our other beers ends. S?pris brings a distinct experience to the palate with ample effervescence and understated robustness.

Thanks to Skyview for hauling this back. HDazy straw color with a grainy nose. Light refreshing body with malty character.

I don’t get any Belgian character out of this beer. Light wheat in the flavor. Filtered yellow appearance. Lightly sweet malt and no perceivable hops. OK palate.

Carted back east by non-other than Skyview. Cloudy yellow color with no head. Grassy aroma. Slight lemony taste with a lot of yeast and spiciness following. A bit of sweet malt for the base helps make this quite fine.

Had this beer on 2/28/2006. Aroma is like a Hefe. Color is a bright gold with a slight haze. Carbonation is good with a nice head. Taste is light and sweet. Starts with a light body it goes down with an easy fizy yet smooth feel and a creamy sour malt flavor coming on. Finish builds on the sour flavor then turns sweet with a spicy taste that is a bit like a hefy and ends with a mild bitterness. Its very well rounded, refreshing and light, yet bold with big flavor.

Pours hazy golden with thin head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty, reminds me of a saison. Flavor is sweet but not cloying. Body is smooth but not too heavy. Decent.

Slightly hazy yellow with a rapidly disappearing head. Fruity-yeasty aroma. Fizzy mouthfeel, medium body. Tangy and hoppy, but not bitter. Some fruity yeast flavor. Surprisingly substantial for an American blonde. Nice, different.

Pours pale and clear, almost no head. Aroma is sweet of bananas and yeast. Flavor is tart with banana and some sweetness. Medium bodied. Pretty good, but nothing special.

Hazy golden, moderate head with good lacing and retention. Aroma is wheaty with notes of banana, grassy hops, lighter fruits. Medium to light body, lightly tart finish. Well made but kinda boring. Wouldn’t have guessed Belgian Ale though.
