Commercial Description:
The pioneering spirit that made us Oregon's Oldest Craft Brewery ® is the inspiration behind our new European inspired big beautiful blonde ale, S?pris. Drawing from our heritage of fine ale craftsmanship, we pursued a fresh flavor direction that would encapsulate our history as well as our vision of bringing the best flavors of the world to your pint glass. S?pris is crafted with European two-row malt to maintain a clean, rich flavor that is delicate and immensely satisfying. The unique blend of hops from Germany, Czech Republic and Slovenia deliver a smooth flavor that contributes to the overall unique balanced dimensions S?pris offers. S?pris is naturally conditioned in the bottle and keg in the BridgePort tradition, and that’s where the similarity to our other beers ends. S?pris brings a distinct experience to the palate with ample effervescence and understated robustness.

Bright yellow and not completely clear. Grassy sour aroma. Watery, then sweet and sour. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

I don’t see it in the description but this beer hit me like a german wheat beer. If there’s no wheat here then I don’t know what they did to get the estery, near bubblegum aspects that came through. Dances on the palate, somewhat spritzy. After I adjusted to the flavor it started to grown on me but I’m not in love.

Bottle. Aroma was like smelling over ripe bananas sitting out on the counter. Blond body with white head. Flavor was more like a Hefe with vanilla, banana and some fruit pear present. Medium to full bodied brew. Liked it good brew.

Everything looked good with this beer, but alas the flavor just didn’t do a dang thing for this beer. Light yellow in color, fluffy white head on the pour. Aroma was pretty subdued but what I could sense was sweet (honey?) and fruity. The flavor was really bad with pvc and honey coming thru which made it nearly undrinkable.

Little haze to this yellow pour with white head. Yeast nose with a little lemon hint. Flavor has hints of banana touch of citrus. Nice finish with a Belgian touch.

Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a patchy white head. Aroma is banana, yeast (dough, grass), malt (meal, cereal) and lemon. Moderately bitter, medium acidity, low sweetness, tart citrus hop that is somewhat lasting, dough and malt. Light bodied and tart, spicy and fizzy palate.

Bottle: Thick murky bright gold with a minimal white head. It almost looks like a hefeweizen. The aromas have notes of flowers, fermented yeasts, ripe bananas and a slight land fill stench. It has tastes of ripe bananas and other sweet flavors with a hint of bitterness at the end. Not my favorite tastes. I liked the thick body that leaves a presence on your tongue for a while. Overall, I guess its not bad, nothing I would go back to if I had a choice.

Has a nice glowing murky yellow color, smells of semi-sour brett and wheat, flavor is somewhat light, lacking depth. The astringency and bitterness does not exactly fit with this beer, I was thinking it was close to Leffe Blond, but the bitterness or huskyness puts it off a little bit. Interesting, but could be much better. Why not just brew a saison?
