This is a really cool name for a beer ‘light brigade’. Another gem like the rest from Pittsburgh Brewing. Not a ticker though I’ve had this many times before. I actually come across one at my mother in laws house and thought I’d give it a fair rate after some ‘good’ beers. It is one of the low price leaders in the western PA region. I actually taste this with anticipation that it will not be great. Pours like a very nice lager with plenty of lacing. Light yellow, not quite lemon, color. White head stays with it. Has a simple yeasty beery aroma. I can’t stop looking at these hypnotizing laces. This is from a year old can, 12 oz pop top that is rather attractive with its white top can fading thru horizontal bars, to a black bottom sitting on a chrome hub. It has a rapidly fading flavor personality that comes on medium strong then goes light. Medium fine carbonation. Finish is not lingering and is reminiscent of many lagers. Does not have any hints of that old Iron City flavor, there is the hint of three rivers of flavor after the fade; Allegheny, Monongahela & the ohio! Another fine example from my local Pittsburgh Brewing. This has got to be one of the best buys in the world at 29 US cents per can. Makes me think of the old days when gas was 29 US cents per gallon.

This canned brew poured a large sized head of foamy white colored finely sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent weak yellow orange light red colored carbonated body and a poor lacing. The aroma was that of dirty socks. The mouth feel was tingly and crisp with a semi-thick malt hop note, initially thin on flavor and had a mildly lingering corn malt finish. The flavor was mild with malt hop corn notes that were slightly astringent.

Can. Medium white fizzy head that mostly diminished, fine-small sized bubbles, poor lacing, transparent, carbonated, and a yellow hue. Malty, skunky aroma. Malty flavor and not very tasty at that. Tingly mouthfeel. Light body.

aroma smells almost like they used water from the allegheny river to make this, flavor is a bit more appealing than the smell, appearance is a bit darker than the average, palate is somewhat smooth but overall gets a decent score because it’s only 5.99 a case

Fairly flavorful for a light beer, unfortunately not a good flavor though. Not one I will drink again even if it is low carb
