Commercial Description:
Bristol Brewing Company proudly announce the graduation of Edge City IPA to six packs and confer upon it the name of Bristol’s Compass IPA! This is an ale with zip. Our IPA brings together copious amounts of Columbus, Chinook and Cascade hops in a tasty combination that lingers through the finish and beyond. Big hop flavor with malt in a nice supporting role.

Tasting at CBF. Nice clear golden color, medium white head. Aroma of citrus hops, specifically grapefruit. Taste is clean and crisp. Very bitter finish; almost no sweetness throughout. Its clear this beer is brewed with lots of hops.

12oz bottle. Hazy with a drk golden hue. Off white ring of head. Grapefruit and fudge aromas with a hint of candy sugar. Medium bodied with a bitter palate. Nice bright grapefruit hop flavor. Dry finish.

This draft brew from a motel on nitro poured a extremely large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a uncarbonated dark orange colored body. The mild aroma was hoppy and floral. The thick flat flavor contained notes of mild hops. Not one that I would likely buy again as the nitro just kills it.

(12oz bottle thanks to Cavie) Pours a clear yellow-orange with oily head. Nose is grapefruit and hoppy. Taste is dominated by the bitterness and not sweet enough to match. The palette is oily slick and finishes much the same as the taste with tons of pine and grapefruit. Not bad, but not well done either.

12oz bottle 8/10/09 (Courtesy of RSRIZZO)-Pours a cloudy orangish amber iwth a small white ring for a head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and malt. Taste of the same with some more sweetness on the back end. This medium bodied brew is not bad but has a bit more malt than other IPA’s.

Clear orange. Some soured hops but not bad. Sour and dry hops. Not bad but the hop choice could have been better.

Pours a dark golden color with a thin white head. The aroma is malty and sweet, which is usually not an expected aroma for an IPA. The flavor is also a bit malty/sweet, but with a noticeable hop component to balance out the other flavors. The beer is a little heavy in the mouth for an easy drinking IPA, but it’s still pretty tasty.
