Huge floral citrus pine aroma. Chewy, malty, grassy citrus hop taste. Could have used a bigger malt presence, a little thin. Tasty nonetheless. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Pours a nice light cloudy amber with a big whitish head. Smell is fruity and nice, but a bit mild. Taste is crisp and hoppy with a nice balance but a bit of a hoppy lingering bitterness and light sweet maltiness. Overall pretty solid IPA. much more enjoyable than their DIPA that I had a while back. Good beer. GarrettB (494), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 15, 2008 I absolutely adore the Bristol Edge City Double IPA, and so had high hopes for the single version. But I guess that in a tribute to the Henckel’s knife tradition, one IPA is inferior to two (in Henckel’s cutlery, "one man" on the logo means a cheaper knife, compared to the more luxuruous "two man" Henckels.) Bristol’s Edge City IPA inflates with a thick pillowy head, the foam a wood-shaving tan, with a jacuzzi’s worth of bubbles stirring in the bright orange and brown body. Later the head recedes into a wrinkled, condensed blotch that floats peacefully in the center of the glass like a hermit. A spritz of lemon greets the nose soon after the pour, with a hoppiness that can be found in almost any American IPA - generic in every sense of the word. Even worse, the taste is bland, with the hoppiness lending a biting rusting flavor, and all the other tastes feel watered down. There’s some sweetness from the hops, namely an orange pith, but the balancing is all wrong. Go with the Double. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2008 So, my girlfriend is in the middle of cleaning and I see her walking around with a beer and she popped this without telling me. What a jerk. I had a sip to rate it, thanks santa! Pours cloudy amber with a small white head. Caramel, toffee, candy sugar, and hop aroma. Flavor was orange citrus and marmalade, caramel malts, plum, and a slight medicinal bandaid thing. Finishes bitter. drjay44 (824), Salida, Colorado, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 4, 2008 Bottle an extra in a trade. Pours a dark amber body with 2 finger off white head. Aroma is sweet honey pine, soft hoppy floral aroma. Flavor is sweet pine honey but a good malt backbone that i’m digging as hoppy as it is. This works and the etoh isn’t overbearing, a good citrus fruit flavor as well. Solid beer easy drinking. A perfect session ipa, i really like it. Dickinsonbeer (3517), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Pours a slight chill hazy copper with a nice head that lasts a while. Aroma is sharp citrusy with pine notes, and some light doughy cracker malts. Pine and orange peel-type hops, almost a harsh resinous character in the flavor but has a crisp pleasant bitterness at first- gets a bit tacky as you drink more but nice. uhclem (192), Loveland, Colorado, USA
