Poured a dark and hazy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of grapefruit, oranges, and light flowers. Tastes of grapefruit, oranges, grass and caramel. Has a nice sweet and bitter balance. Rastacouere (5559), Montréal, Quebec, Canada

An drop in the sea of American IPAs.
I like:
Sedimented golden. Nice foam. Tropical notions. Bready pale malts, not too much crystals.
I dislike:
Atrocious label. Strong citric bitterness blend with yeastiness. Simplicity. Rough edges.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 19, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Citrusy hoppiness morphs into a wooden, leafy bitterness in this relatively yeasty and straightforward American IPA example.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the murky beige.
-The end bitterness is raw and biting.
-The malt profile is not enticing enough to create interest and its lean body is barely sturdy enough to support the blatant hopping.
-The fruity hop profile is interesting, spanning from grapefruit juice to orange zest, but the last half of the sip is not as satisfying as the first.

Poured into a Raftman tulip glass. Pours cloudy copper with a creamy tan head. Smells of citrus, yogurt, flowers, perfume and hay. Tastes malty and sweet with some citrussy undertones. Finshes of sweet oranges and malt. Mouthfeel is sugary. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2008 22oz bottle pours unfiltered soft peach in color with a full, foamy white head. Instant nose of citrus juice: mandarin oranges, pineapple, mango, lemon juice, etc. Bitterness is medium to heavy, flavor is more catty than the nose, unexpected with the c-note hops, but still has a lot of juiciness, some sweetness, turning to some dry pine wood in the finish. Tasty. Cornfield (4956), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 10, 2004 FOBAB 2004, there called Edge City Old World IPA, "English IPA dry-hopped and aged in English oak." It poured a hazy copper color with a foamy off-white head. The aroma was predominantly of floral hops and a bit of smokiness, prhaps from the aging. It’s a very tasty IPA with a solid malt backbone and some good floral, citric, and earthy hoppiness. Nice bitter finish. Ernest (4495), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 28, 2002 Updated: Apr 2, 2005Draught, Bristol Brewpub, Colorado Springs. Head is mostly lasting. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately hoppy (grapefruit, flowers, orange, apricot), lightly malty (cookie, caramel), with a note of peach. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, moderately acidic. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Re-rate on CO2 instead of nitro, and though noticeably better, still not quite my thing.
