DrBayern (877), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Mar 25, 2008 22 oz. bottle on 3/25/08. Massive, sturdy, light beige head over an orange/gold body. I don’t recall ever having seen a head this size in an IPA, yet it is certainly not overcarboonated at all. The lace is excellent. Fresh hoppy aroma with alot of pine and citrus, and a light toffee characer in the background.
Medium body and carbonation, slightly resinous, yet only a soft dryness. ight caramel flavors last well into the finish, which is not very bitter at all, but is not sweet either. A pine/spruce type of flavor lingers on the palate. Not an verly assertive IPA, but has nice balance and drinkability.
Rciesla (674), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle an extra in a trade. Pours a dark amber body with 2 finger off white head. Aroma is sweet honey pine, soft hoppy floral aroma. Flavor is sweet pine honey but a good malt backbone that i’m digging as hoppy as it is. This works and the etoh isn’t overbearing, a good citrus fruit flavor as well. Solid beer easy drinking. A perfect session ipa, i really like it. Dickinsonbeer (2457), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bomber. Pours a slight chill hazy copper with a nice head that lasts a while. Aroma is sharp citrusy with pine notes, and some light doughy cracker malts. Pine and orange peel-type hops, almost a harsh resinous character in the flavor but has a crisp pleasant bitterness at first- gets a bit tacky as you drink more but nice. uhclem (102), Loveland, Colorado, USA Jun 19, 2008 22oz. Hazy orange-peach pour. thick off-white head and good lacing. Nose is pine and fruity/spicy, but nicely muted. There is an undertone of mustiness. Taste carries in the fruit and spice. Medium mouthfeel. Aftertaste is pleasant and lingers. WinoInTraining (13), Longmont, Colorado, USA May 5, 2008 Nipe IPA, lighter than the typical US version though. Clean, almost honey color. Tell-tale piny hops. Light floral. Clean palate, tasty and refreshing. after4ever (1628), Brier, Washington, USA Apr 21, 2008 22. Pours crystal clear coppery medium amber with towering, thick, massively surging, fluffy white head and thick sheets of lace coming down the glass as it settles. Easily a 5:1 fluff:beer ratio on first pour. Piney hops, crackers, a little bit of staleness due to diacetyl. Medium body, moderate carb. Biscuit, oranges, and a brief flash of resin near the end comprise the mid-palate. Mild resin and orange pith finish. Decent.
