RSRIZZO (987), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 23, 2007 Had this beer on 7/9/2005. Aroma is a sweet bright malt scent. Color is a bright yellow/gold with good carbonation and thin head. Taste is clean and bitter. Starting with a light body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish comes on with a smooth malt flavor backed by a faint hop flavor and a bold bitter end. This may be one of the best and most well rounded Pilsners I have ever had. BDR (1863), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jun 2, 2007 On tap at Bristol Brewsing. A light yellow color with foamy white head. Slightly bitter hoppy nose. Grainy body. Surprisingly good for a pils. greatbratzkie (7), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA does not count Jan 24, 2007 Great micro pilsner - very refreshing taste and worth the trip to the brewery. Also served at Sky Sox games. GarrettB (399), Centennial, Colorado, USA Nov 23, 2006 Updated: Oct 14, 2007The whole collection of Bristol brews that are only available (and drinkable) at the Bristol brewpub is the biggest secret in Colorado Springs, second only to NORAD, and everybody at least knows NORAD is there. So I like to pop in to the brewery every once and awhile and see what’s on tap. Last time it was Skull & Bones, and making the typical naïve college assumption I expected it this time around too. No such luck I’m afraid, but they did have two others of mild interest: Edge City Wit and Edge City Pilsner. The Pilsner was actually purchased by my friend, but we had something of a sampler session. I continue to stand by my love for Winter Warlock - and little else of Bristol’s. The Pilsner was a fairly regular pilsner and lacked the charm that instills most of Bristol’s beverages, even though they may not be the most complex or spirited. It sat upright in its glass like a bubbly column of neon yellow; an inch thick cap of alpine white crested on the top making a foam moustache free sip impossible. A thorough search with all two of my nostrils yielded no discernible scent. I may attribute this to the open, sterile and crowded nature of the bar. I may also attribute it to the veritable foam cork that plugged the top of the beer. The taste was pretty clear – not watery. It bubbled and trickled with a very feint pilsner taste, tinged with a light skunkiness and left bereft of anything that could make it a strong pils. While not burdensome, it’s not enlightening and lacked any character that would make it a beer eminent in my memory. If you ever visit the Brewpub I’d recommend having something else poured – especially as this winter gives us such a wonderful sweet stout benison poured under the guise of a green-faced magician. ratman197 (2242), Arvada, Colorado, USA Apr 25, 2006 Bomber {Thanks to BeerandBlues2} poured a hazy gold with a small quickly dissapating white head. Aromas of breadlike malt and a touch of citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of cereal, fruitiness and and a hint of lemon with a smooth lingering bitter finish.
