| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Draft at The Falling Rock in Denver. Poured a clear dark brown color with orange highlights. Head was off white. Smelled of chocolate and a #2 pencil. Toffee and toasted bread aromas also came out as it warmed up a bit. Slightly sweet on the tongue with a definite roasty/smoky note. Makes me wonder if the nuts were roasted before they were added. There were also hints of brown sugar, bacon, and molasses. Not bad. Nice to try a brown ale with a little something-something. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 14, 2009 Bottle: Copperish amber pour with an off white thin head. Sweet nutty aroma with a vague grainy character. Light body and mild flavor with a touch of fruity esters. Grainy nutty notes with a very mild hop presence (hardly detectable). Lacking the malt depth/nuance that makes a good Brown Ale. A bit too simple. dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 10, 2009 Pretty nutty aroma. The flavor is lighter than most nut browns but is also better in that regard. Really easy drinking.
