Commercial Description:
Laughing Lab has a nourishing maltiness that comes from six specialty malts. Its nutty, roasted flavor is mildly sweet, but not too rich. Smooth and luscious!

bottle - Pours amber brown and has a rich malt aroma. The flavor is heavy on the malt with mild dark fruit notes. It’s medium bodied and rather enjoyable.

’08 bottle courtesy of BA trader. Pours copper, brownish with beige head. Aroma is fruity, malty with hints of cherry/prune and light chocolate. Flavor, dark fruits really give this one a good dimension, hinting at a gingerbread palate with some caramel and fruits. Possibly some smoke in the finish.

This draft brew from a motel poured a head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a slightly hazy overly strong carbonated brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy malty and nutty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start with a mild malt hop flavor and at the finish with a soft nut aftertaste. The mild flavor contained notes of mild Scottish Ale flavoring. An OK brew just nothing special.

12oz bottle, bottled fifth week of June. Clear reddish copper with a 1/2 finger beige head. Nutty brown ale qualities dominate as well as some malted milk ball notes. Flavor has a dry toasted malts and a more bitter than expected--and necessary--finish, peaking at a 3, but not a flavorful bitterness at all.Scant carbonation with a light to medium body. Didn?t really like this.

12oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy reddish bornw with white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and malt. Flavor is sweet malts, with caramel, toffee, a touch of nuttyness. Palate is a little light and watery. Could be a lot better if it has a bigger malt backbone. Not a bad beer though.

Nice chestnut brown color with a head that disappeared very quickly. It has a malty smell that seems pretty nondescript. The flavor seems right in line for the style but subtle. Malty, a little bit of smokiness but not overpowering like some Scottish ales I’ve had. Very easy to drink and I could probably have had more than one of these in a session. Crushed with Jakebra at Falling Rock. Interesting nose of roast and sweet malt. Flavor is about the same. Mouthfeel is grainy and dirty and none too nice. Still a ok Scottish
