Aromas of fresh baked French toast. Medium nectar with good carbonation. Defined baked bread malts hit the spot after a deluge of day old hot wings after a long night at the shop. Like it says it’s not too rich. I would say the commercial description is honest enough and I’ll leave it at that. Nutty, mildly roasted malt backbone that is not sweet at all. Goes great with these wings. The finish is bittered nicely. A very good specimen. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Had on tap at Old Chicago. Aroma is a faint malt scent. Color is a deep brownish amber with low carbonation and a thin tight head. Its a roasted malt flavor that is a bit caramel like this is followed by a low bitterness and faint hop flavor. Its a clean easy drinking Scottish Ale. jah noth (1017), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2007 Swet malty aroma, very caramelly. Auburn chestnut in color with a quickly disappearing off-white head. Slightly nutty flavor, not overly sweet or sticky, just some nicely toasted caramel. Fairly thin, but this isn’t supposed to be huge. Enjoyable. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Draught @ TGIF in Colorado Springs: Dark chestnut, moderate foamy light tan head, fairly clingy lacing.   Soft malt nose, very
minor roast.   Not getting much smoke or peat like character commonly found.   Seems to have a fairly decent malt character on the
tongue, all while remaining lighter than other examples.   Body and mouthfeel are nearing the thin side.   On the trailer you can
tell this one does not have enough malt character overall.   Started okay, but finishes too light.   This almost has more in common
to a Nut Brown than a Scottish Ale.   Light for the style, but overall nothing nasty about it.   Just wished it was a bit bigger.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Poured from a bottle. Poured a brown color with a tan head. Malts dominate in aroma and taste. Undertones of toffee and nuts. A nice beer that my friend and I drank quite a bit before we turned 21, and still a favorite to enjoy together. spadedbearsays (9), USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2007 A pretty good scottish brew.... not to over the top in any way, but unique in a roasty toasty kind of toffee taste.... scottmc (167), Lakewood, Colorado, USA
