Apr 28, 2007 Bottle. Pours an iced tea brown with a normal head. Nose is malty toasted nuts. Flavor is very thin and not as robust as others of the style have been. Slight roasty notes and continuation of the toasted nuts. I am not a big fan of Scotch Ales and this was just a reinforcer of that.

Apr 15, 2007 Had this at an Old C’s from a bottle. Nothing special as far as scotish ales go but not bad either. Pours a dark brown/red with fairly little aroma. There wasn’t enough other flavors going on to balance out the sweetness.

Dec 25, 2006 Pours a slightly hazed brown with a vanishing head. The aroma is extremely malty, a little earthy with a touch of black tea. Very sweet and malty. No actual hop aroma or flavor.

Oct 11, 2006 Bottled. Poured reddish copper, tan head. Big, malty nose, caramel notes. Malty, sweet, caramel, nutty flavor, with a hint of smoke. Finish was nicely hopped, without being too bitter for the style.
