Commercial Description:
Laughing Lab has a nourishing maltiness that comes from six specialty malts. Its nutty, roasted flavor is mildly sweet, but not too rich. Smooth and luscious!

Pours an amber color, very, very thin head. Aroma is sweet and malty, like toast. Some dark fruit and wood evident. Flavor is Nice and malty and mellow, chocolate malts dominate end. Not much in the way of hoppiness, but that’s expected for this style. Wood notes and dark fruit make brief appearances. Not a very good scottish ale, but a pretty decent amber ale! They should just reclassify this.

12 oz bottle. Pours a reddish copper with a smallish big bubbled head that quickly goes to a wispy layer disappeared completely.

The aroma is sweet toffee and caramel malts - slightly smokey with a little roasted chocolate and some sweet sugariness.

The flavor is sweet malts and roasted toffee with some acidic bitterness at the finish. There are some off flavors as well - a little sour and acidic and some diacetyl. It is light to medium bodied and a little watery with some harsh carbonation.

Overall, I didn’t care for it much. A little too sweet and the off flavors and mouthfeel turned me off.

an of brown amber color w/ a thin light tan head that dissapated quickly and nice carbonation on the glass. Scents of nutty malty earhyness, fairly light. palate is very medium body clean finish. Taste is a little sweet good malt finish of a weak oaky scotch a tiny bit of hops but very very light. Overall a good session style beer not over the top in any way and quite good.

Reddish brown color out of the bottle with very little carbonation evident in the pour. What head there was lay on the surface like that pattern in sand at low tide. The aroma was muted but was malty with hints of chalk. Body seems a little light, but it is a very smooth drink. Sweet malts with something faintly roasty in the background. Not a very complicated flavor palate. The finish just fades away, leaving nothing particular by which to remember it.

Nose is earthy, mineraly and malty. No head retention. Color is an orange-brown, clear. Medium body, sits nicely on the tongue. Initial taste is a strong sweet maltiness, followed by some earthy, mossy and nutty tones. Some roastedness but not much. Finish is a little bitter, might stand just a touch more hops. For what it is, it’s not too bad.

Rich amber color with a tan medium-lasting head. This is an enjoyable light beer with a malty coffee and caramel flavor.

Appearance is a mahogany/red color low co2 and a very low off-white head. Lacing is sticky. Aroma is of malt, molasses, caramel, and lightly earthy. Caramel flavor with malt and a very light hop finish. Palate is light bodied and effervescent with a hoppy finish. IMHO: a fair representation of the style, but fairly one-dimensional.

Pours a nut brown with a tan head. Malty and caramel aromas. Flavor is bitter with a buttery feel. The palate is metallic.
