Commercial Description:
Laughing Lab has a nourishing maltiness that comes from six specialty malts. Its nutty, roasted flavor is mildly sweet, but not too rich. Smooth and luscious!

12oz bottle labeled bottled in Jul. Poured a darker amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of peat, bread, light smoke and light caramel. Tastes of caramel, nuts, lightly roasted malts, and had a lighter earthiness to it. Tastes on the weaker side compared to the aromas (somewhat of a let down). Lacing left on the glass.

Light copper, filtered and clear colored, topped by a timid off-white head that slowly becomes a memory. Despite the intense filtration, surprising banana notes make their way through the otherwise rather typical nutty, fruity (dried raisins, wood berries) nose in which malt aptly dominates. It never develops too far in its sweetness, betting on a nutty and cerealic combo backed by the necessary fruits and smoke hints for balance. In terms of palate, it is well constructed, light-medium body with mostly engaging carbonation that lasts. Hops are almost neglectable, barely providing a light herbal kick toward the finish, while a graininess grows from sip to sip. Forgettable, but clean.

Draft at Falling Rock. Huge foamy tan head, body is the color of dark purple/brown and mostly clear with red light at the bottom. Carbonation is far too high, and the body on this beer is far too weak. Has a distinct note of diacetyl, some mild, buttery scotch and some pale and pallid herbal spices. Vegetal at times, very pale and bland with a thin texture. Disappointing.

Clear brown with a fluffy light tan head. Fruity caramel aroma. Light caramel flavors, reminds me of some atempts at a bock by other american brewers. Another american amber/bock/dark/scottishvienna/octoberfest drivel brew. Perhaps I'm a bit harsh, but I am tired of brewers adding a specialty grain bill and calling it something other than an average american amber.

Bottle (Jun/07 production). Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (resin), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of bubble gum and dust. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Crude.

This draft brew from a motel poured a head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a slightly hazy overly strong carbonated brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy malty and nutty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start with a mild malt hop flavor and at the finish with a soft nut aftertaste. The mild flavor contained notes of mild Scottish Ale flavoring. An OK brew just nothing special.

Reddish orange with a nutty baseline and mellowly bittered. Smooth and drinkable.
