Commercial Description:
Red Rocket is lively and up front, with a malt-inspired body and a crisp finish. Its character comes from a blend of Perle, Willamette and Cascade hops. Dry hopped with Cascade for a refreshing aroma.

Draft, Brew at the Zoo Benefit in Denver. Poured a clear orange color. Couldn’t muster any more than a filmy off white head. No lace was left behind. Aroma was of flowery hops and fresh cut grass. Dry on the tongue up front with delicate malty caramel sweetness at the end which lingers.

I had this one on tap at House of Brews in Manhattan. I really enjoyed this APA. It had a deep coppery color and an off white head with good legs. It had the appearance of a malty sweet ale but once your nose gets near it, you know it’s well hopped. Strong floral scent and a not too bitter citricy flavor abounds. This is for hop lovers!. I don’t understand some of the other ratings on this beer---must have had a flat/stale keg. I agree with another rater who said he could drink a case!

Pours a copper body with a good head. Pithy, piney hop aroma fills out the aroma. A bit of pale malt flavor in there as well. Not bad. Will suffice in a hop jones.

Bottle poured a clear coppeer with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of earthy hops, carmel light spice and a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, grapefruit rind and light pine with a moderatly bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle from Morgan’s. Drank on 8/17/06. Very clear, solid copper. Not really much red about it. 1 cm. creamy off white head. Drops fairly quickly to a thin layer of foam. Aroma - dominant grainy, malty, cerealy aroma. Tiny bit of sweetness, not much hops. Flavor - moderate up front bitterness. Fairly balanced in the middle, but towards bitterness. After the swallow is a dominant grainy, cerealy malt flavor - no real hop flavor. Palate - pretty light, good carb. Overall - It’s OK, but not great. I enjoy it, but for an APA I don’t get much hop character at all. Maybe more like an EPA or ESB. Good beer, just not hoppy enough for an APA. Could use a little more body too.

Solid if not a bit middle of the road. Sweet start but finishes with decent amount of hoppy liveliness.
