Commercial Description:
This commerative ale boasts a perfect aroma with remarkable balance. The balance quikly gives way to hop bitterness, a touch of maltiness and soft aged alcohol notes.

Draft at BRBC. Off-white small head that became mostly lasting, fine-small sized bubbles, fair lacing, transparent, no visible carbonation, and an orange red hue. Nose was malty with alcohol notes. Flavor was sweet, malty, hoppy, and vinuous. Nice flavor. Tingly palate. Medium body.

Indy gathering 2005. This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized long lasting off-white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained no visible carbonation, was transparent and dark golden brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild almost non-existent malt . Its mouth feel is initially smooth with a lingering tingly palate and a smooth finish. Its flavor contained mild brown malts, mild hop notes and was very tasty. Very good flavor over all very drinkable but just a tad on the flat side.

On tap at the pub. Garnet jewell colored with a Coke-like head. Sweet malty nose with something almost smokey. Dark caramel sweetness up front with some ash and molassess. The middle seems a too thin, especially given the ABV. I didn’t really taste the alcohol, but I felt it.

Cask. Pours a hazy red amber with a thin, almost nonexistant head. Thin on the palate, with a hop bitterness to it. Notes of alcohol, but not overpowering. The flavors didn’t mesh as well as I expected.

From the cask at the brew pub one day after their 15th Anniversery. Cloudy brown beer with thing white head. There are present malts in the aroma, somewhat earthy, and fairly plain. Bold bitter hops hit quickly after the first sip. They are crisp and defined. The bitterness quickly goes away and a bit of malt comes in, followed at the finish by resurgent hops, but not as strong as the initial flavor. Hops are fairly citrusy and spicey. There is a present alcohol undertone. Several nice flavors, but they came in distinct waves. They weren’t really connected to each other and the beer didn’t flow from start to finish. I was suprised at how the flavors changed.
