Thanks to Sprinkle for the hand-bottle. Dark brown pour. Thin beige head. Aroma is dark fruit, molasses, and roast. Earthy roast up front with a bitter sweet fruity finish

Thanks ucusty for sharing this one. Pours a dark black with some light and a one finger light tan head. The nose is sharp, smells of fruit skins, sweet, acetaldehyde? Not sure what was going on in the flavor or aroma. Had a tartness to it that I couldn’t figure the origin of. Tastes of mothballs, roasty, some astringency. Not too hot on this one.

Bottle at toncatcher’s T3 tasting. What kind of crazy cool name is this? Insanely rich aroma. Lots of malty and chocolate flavors.

Sample from a bottle shared by sprinkle @ DLD09. Pours black with a small tan ring. The aroma was roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, and earthy. The flavor was roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits (prunes), with an earthiness to the finish. This showed a bit of alcohol as well. Not the star of the show, but a solid imperial stout in its own right. Rating # 18 for this beer.

12oz. handbottle, with thanks to sprinkle! Pours a dark brown/black with a minimal covering of large loose bubbles. Aroma is heavily roasted malts, molasses, caramel and dark fruits. Flavor is more ripe dark fruits, caramel and roasted malts. Not bad, but nothing too special. Thanks again Mike!

Had some from the kegged batch at the 2009 State Fair. Pitch body with a short tan ring for a head. Dark chocolate with fruity accents. Roast with a touch of molasses and creamy earth. Fullish body, nice and thickish. Alcohol is a bit out of control, though I’d probably still have guessed under ten. Few stale notes - was this slightly oxidized?

Hand bottle from sprinkle shared by Odeed. Thanks Mike and Jake! Very dark cherry brown with a slight ring of bubbles. Nose is very much more fruity than I am used to in ISs. It is like chocolate raspberries, caramel, and prunes. Flavor is chocolate, pepperiness, alcohol, dark fruit, and light bitterness. Finish lightly bitter.
