DLD via sprinkle: Black inky and oily appearance, small lasting frothy head, very good lace. The aroma has notes of molasses, city + coffee, plum, tobacco, chocolate, oak, floral hops and a hint of peat moss. The taste is chewy malts and dark fruits with a noticeable soy sauce undertones, tobacco and boozy too. The coffee notes and earthy peat character upon the finish does help round the palate a great deal. The mouth feel is oily and lush with a warming finish, could be a bit heavier in the body however. Not too bad considering the source.

12oz bottle. thanks to sprinkle who came out of nowhere to pour this treat...close to black with an average medium brown head... roast and chocolate in the nose, a little doughy maybe....flavors kept it pretty much the same with roasted malt and chocolate. def an above average imperial stout.

Thanks to Mike for sharing this gem! Poured near black with a fine cap of dark brown head. The aroma picked up rich dark chocolates, molasses, and treacle with a warm, roasty imprint.. smelled like it had a little age to it (maybe slight oxidation?). The flavor department is really where this struck gold.. coffee and lesser dark chocolate provided most of the base with oak and vanilla laced throughout.. toasty with a long, succulent finish. Heavier-bodied with a little bit of sourness (oak-inspired) that helped out on the palate.. a bit hot, but well-received.

T3. I’m #9 on the ratings. Not enough yet. Dark brown with brown tints. Big bubble head. Nose is BIG. Sweet and thick. Vanilla and molassis among other inhalants. Taste is complex. Warm and smooth. Lots of flavors moving around. I’m totally down with this one.

Served from cask at the brewpub. Opaque black with a tan head. Sweet chocolate aroma. Creamy, very mellow cask carbonation. Lots of roasty chocolate coffee flavors. Smooth and quite creamy, almost lactic. A tad undercarbonated, but thats cask I guess. The full on taste really redeems it. Excellent.

A great Impy that I don’t have to drive to another state to get? Awesome. A word up front, let this one warm up, it adds complexity and depth. Very nice brew. Pours an excellent looking rich black color, with a tan head. Aroma has some licorice, bakers chocolate and some real earth notes to it. Flavor is burnt chocolate and roasted grains, side by side with candied sugar, backed by dark fruits. Nice touch of hops and dough. Really starts to develop more character as it warms. Very creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle at Toncatchers T3. A brown pour with a small tan head. The aroma had distinct notes of vanilla and mocha. The taste was nice and complex with smooth coffee, plums, anise, peat and some burnt toast. The palate was smooth and creamy. The finish was long and dry. Overall: A very good brew
