Commercial Description:
1991 Gold Medal Winner at GABF. Bitter is a traditional English pub draught. Extra Special defines a stronger maltier version. Our bitter is brewed using generous amounts of malt and kettle hops. This leaves the dinker with a hop aftertaste balanced with the sweetness of the malt.

Not strong enough to be an ESB. Orange/copper, fairly clear. Light-bodied for a bitter. That said, good sweetness, good earthiness. Not bad.

I had this on tap at the brewpub, served in an imperial pint glass. It was very drinkable, a solid ESB in the British style.

Sampler draft at the brewpub. Pours a deep iced tea brown with a creamy beige head that reduces to a lasting thin skin. Nice creamy lacing. The aroma is of nutty malt and lightly fruity hops. Light-bodied and slick with a tight, hoppy, bitter finish. Lightly nutty malt with a faint caramel backing and a fruity hop conclusion. A very solid ESB, and one of my favorites of the evening. 10/14/07

On tap @ the Brew pub: Pours a clear ruddy copper color with an off white head. Aroma, yeast, earthy hops and caramel. Flavor, caramel, nutty, earthy with a medium carbonation and some bitterness on the finish. Pretty solid.

Thanks to Bob, Michelle, and mostly my baby Jana for the 12th annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival today! On tap @ the fest. Nose of dried fruit & flowers. The brew is clear copper. The quickly diminishing creamy off white head leaves light lace. The very floral flavor is well balanced and has a light acidity. The finish is long and bitter. The medium body is creamy & soft. The finish feels dry.

Had on draft at the pub. Very sweet and malty, followed by a slight hop finish. I wasnt expecting to like this being a bit anti hop as I am, but this was actually pretty good and very drinkable!

On tap at the brew pub. This beer pours a dark hazy brown allmost copper like with an good off-white head. The aroma is strong with hops and sweet malts. The flavor was just that and more. Hopey but off set with sweet malts and a hint of a tart fruit. It goes down smooth and creamy with a slight bitter finish. A very good Bitter beer.
