| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 3, 2004 Draft sample. There was no head with this beer. It had fine-medium sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. The body was transparent and uncarbonated with an amber hue. The nose was malty and hoppy with a sweet, bitter, hoppy, and malty flavor that left a lingering aftertaste. The mouthfeel was smooth with a watery and thin texture. There was no lacing. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2004 From a sampler: Pours a rich amber color witha medium light beige head. Decent lacing. The aroma is fairly malty, with caramel and hops also detectable. The flavor is not overly bitter, and it has a strong malt backbone. The finish is alternating malt and hops. Not too bad. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2003 At Indiana BG Fest: Dark amber hue with little head or lace. Roasted malt, fresh hops, grape and cherry aroma with a hint of pine. Crisp bite mellows nicely into a smooth tasting ale. Not bitter as expected. Dry acidic finish. Thin-bodied with a lively and slightly buttery mouthfeel. Good ESB but could have used a little more malt and custer hops and then I would have loved it. jsquire (2113), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

Whispy head, with a very smooth mouthfeel. Well balanced with a strong hop bitterness and some nice, fruity ale flavors. Great with the pub grub. When in Indy, this is a place to seek out. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2002 This is a good, traditional English pint. They refuse to follow the trend of dry hopping, so it wasn’t what I was expecting. Thin-ish mouthfeel, good color, nice malt-hop balance. Had it from the hand pump so head retention doesn’t really apply. As far as this being the best micro in IN, I seriously beg to differ (unless you consider Munster as not being in Indiana). Just good, solid, traditional stuff.
