drowland (1337), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 14, 2009 Had this on tap at the brewpub but was in town for a wedding with a lot of family and didn’t take good tasting notes beyond the numbers. I do have down that this was my favorite offering of theirs, though. tjthresh (1740), Greenfield, Indiana, USA May 30, 2009 Draft at the brew pub. Pours watery copper orange with a soapy white head. Hops are a decent blend os earth and pine with some background bready malt. Medium body with some oil. StFun (535), Indiana, USA Mar 4, 2009 Sessionable local. Pours a cloudy orange with a nice medium white head. Aroma is nice sharp hops, full of grapefruit and sharp citrus. Flavor is much the same, nice and hoppy. Subtle and simple...but if its good, why overdo it? Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 7, 2008 Objectively speaking:
A satisfying hoppy ale that chooses the simplistic approach: Simplify your malts so your hops appear more complex.
I like:
Very cloudy appearance. By far their most bitter beer, though it keeps the bready malt dominance and this time, it feels almost wheaty at that. Orange and grapefruity hops cover a satisfying citrus array.
I dislike:
Just like it were from the cask, they kept its carbonation level very low, but it feels like it might add some life to those loose malts here. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Oct 6, 2008 Clear amber with a tight white head. Mild aroma of piney and floral hops. Medium body. Well balanced, if mild flavors of sweet caramel with piney and citrusy hops. Very easy drinking. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Apr 29, 2008 Pours a nice amber in color. There was no head to speak of. Taste is decent amount of hops, but they were a tad bit subdued. Easy drinking and went down real smooth, just not a standout beer. Disappointing in the head and hop bite. Good, clean mouthfeel. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Apr 19, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Medium gold body with a large, slightly off white head. The aroma was grapefruit with some toast and walnuts. The taste was grapefruit with some flowers and sweet citrus in the finish. A decent mild IPA was that was closer to an English than a US version. krautdog (15), Gimmelstümph, Germany Apr 8, 2008 I had this on tap at the brewpub, served in an imperial pint glass. It was a nice copper color, nice head retention and actually tasted pretty good. It’s more in the style of a traditional British IPA, not the hop bombs typical of the American versions that I usually drink so, this one was a nice change of pace.
