Commercial Description:
India Pale Ale is a style of ale noted for it's alcoholic strength and bitterness.. Amber in color, this ale offers the drinker a highly hopped, bold beer whose full flavor dances on the palate.

Sampler draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy amber with a thin beige head. The aroma is big piny hops and caramel. Light to medium-bodied slick and fairly soft with a moderately bitter finish. The flavor is a sweet caramel malt front with piny resinous hops quickly stealing the show. A pretty tasty IPA and one that I think is pretty under-rated.

On tap @ the Brew pub: Pours a hazy copper color with virtually no head. Aroma, herbal hop notes, some citrus as well. Flavor, herbal and earthy, some light citrus notes as well, hints of pale malts, just not very good.

Had on draft at the brew pub. I dont really like IPA’s, they are my least favorite style currently. With that said, this one was quite drinkable. Citrus and malt up front, and the old hoppy bitterness on the finish.

Growler acquired in trade with Sephiroth (big thanks for shipping a Growler out!). Poured a medium amber color with a very small sized off white head. Aroma of earth, pine and citrus. Husky. Tastes of pine and grapefruit. Thinner body. Medium bitter finish.

Thanks to hopdog for sharing this growler. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a smaller bubbly off white head. Aroma of piney/earthy hops, some caramel malt and an odd soapy thing going on. Flavor of pine and some grapefruit, some malts and a lingering hop bitterness. A little on the thin side.

On tap.
Pours a lightly hazy orange-yellow with small white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is surprisingly sweet with a dash of citrus and some pine. Flavor is a very sharp bitterness that verges on dish-soap bitter that clashes with the ample malt sweetness instead of the two complementing each other. Strange. Sticky palate verges on cloying. Something’s a bit off here and I can’t quite put a finger on it; yet it’s still a pretty OK beer.

This poured a cloudy light copper body with an off-white head that vanishes quickly, lacing the glass as it does so. The aroma is a watery caramel with sweet apples and a mild PNW hopping. Kind of watery. In taste it’s more of an APA than an IPA, a fairly even balance between the malty sweetness and a grapefruit & pine bitterness. It finishes on an earthy, bitter note. Sessionable.
