Tmoney99 (4649), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 7, 2007 Draft at brewpub on 10/16/07. Poured clear amber color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate aroma of toasted malt. Medium body. Well balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is beer met my expectations. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Oct 18, 2007 Sample draft at the brewpub. Pours a golden caramel color served with little head. The nose is straight bready malt and little more. Light, thin and soft with a clean finish. The flavor is of bready malt with a light, sweet, caramel backing and a dryish, rough finish. Starts off well enough but finishes a bit rough. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 18, 2006 Updated: Sep 21, 2009This draft brew from a festival poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent uncarbonated light orange brown colored body and a very good lacing. The mild aroma was malty and sweet. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a biting hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt mild hops and sweet. A decent one that I would consider buying again. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Oct 3, 2006 Draft at Mad Anthony Oktoberfest. small ivory head that mostly diminished with a fair amount of lacing, transparent, no visible carbonation, and an orange hue. Malty sweet nose and a hint of fruitiness and ditto for the flavor. A mostly smooth mouthfeel. Light-medium body. Very quaffable. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Sep 29, 2006 tap - Light malt aroma, malty taste with a touch of fruit, a highly carbonated mouthfeel, and a too thin body. It’s smooth and easy to drink with a clean finish. BBB63 (4184), La Porte, Indiana, USA Oct 4, 2004 Tap at brewpub: Deep ruby hue with little head or lace, served way too cold. The aroma has notes of caramel, toffee, and toasted malts, spiced apple and earthy yeast esters. The taste is fruity (almost berry like) with a weak malty background. Sadly not much else happens and the finish is disappointing after an initial good start. Where is the malts? The feel is smooth and not offensive. A dumbed down version of the style, I’m not impressed. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA Sep 29, 2004 Tap at Mad Anthony’s. Nice amber color. Short lived white head. Malt is all over the aroma and taste. Hops balance malt in the finish. Nice. jsquire (2086), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Sep 28, 2004 On tap at Mad Anthony’s Octobeer Fest. Light amber color with a big foamy off-white head. Sour grain nose. Burnt caramel with some dark fruit sweetness. Seemed like a big octoberfest with lots of heavy malt sweetness. I’ll admit it was tough to rate this beer among all the hoppy ales I’d had, but it was still a tastey beer.
