Commercial Description:

English: Brøckhouse Hvede is brewed according to Belgian traditions. It is brewed on half pilsner malt and half wheat malt. Especially the wheat malt gives the beer a slightly acidic and fruity flavour. Saaz hops have been added to the wheat beer along with coriander and orange peels. Thus a distinct fragrance and a fresh, lush taste is achieved. The yeast has been imported from Weihenstephan adding to the spicy flavour of the beer. Brøckhouse Hvede has a high content of carbon dioxide and should be served icecold. It is an ideal fragrant refreshment on a hot spring day.

Light yellow colored with cloudy appearance. Little yellow head. Glue dominates this aroma with yeast and orange, spices also come up. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is cleaner with lemon and some biting yeast, some flowers also here. Aftertaste lasts with yeast, thin glue still here.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a big, frothy off-white head. Sharp, sweetish, tart yeast aroma. Fruity notes. Flavour is sweet with lots of yeast. Notes of hops, fruit and coriander as well. Same finish. An okay beer, although rather generic. 25-10-09.

bottle, Danke Du ! pours murky, milky orange brown, with a fast disappearing head, not very inviting. Intense aroma of orange peel and that pharmacy smell that coriander tends to give, its good. Flavor gives subdued impressions of coriander and orange peel, very much in balance. I don´t pick up much hop in aroma or flavor, niothing wrong with that though. It ends slighlty lactic acidic. Well the acidic notes and bad appearance really make this an average experience.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized fluffy white head. Aroma is banana, spices, yeast and some mild notes of grass as well. Flavour is hops, fruits, wheat, banana, some mild notes of fudgeish sweetness. Some slight spicyness in finish. Aftertaste is dominated by banana, grass and some fudgeish notes. Biting carbonation.

Big banana hefeweizen aroma. Very soft palate. Very sweet, and very German, not Belgian. Too sweet, alas, but very tasty.

Draught @ Lord Nelson. Golden yellow w/ small white head. Aromas of banana, light smokiness, wheat and yeast. Much more a Weizen, than Wit. Flavor is slightly sour, wheaty and banana fruity, quite a simple little thing.
