More malt than hops in this, but not too much of anything. Caramel malty flavor like a bitter or ESB. Crisp finish. Pretty drinkable though. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

I had expected more, but now I see that this is an English Pale Ale. Not to bad. Decent finish. Crisp and refreshing. Droptank (79), Spring, Texas, USA

It felt it a bit obnoxious, overbearing and insistant upon itself. Much like the people at the bar. Not a fan....sorry! sebletitje (1997), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pour orange/amber with light white head.
Aroma is malty and earthly yeast.
Taste is malt / caramel, crisp and dry finish, hoppy leaving you with a pislner aftertaste.
Drinkable but really nothing special about this beer. kiefdog (1637), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with one finger white head. Aroma is wheat, grain, sweet malts, wet dog. Flavor has notes of wet straw, grass, hops with hints of fruit and flowers. Light bodied with a quick, slightly bitter finish. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 20, 2008 Aroma is earthy pungent english style hops with some citrus overtones. flavor is balaned, but a little one dimentional. just earthy hops and a bit of malt. probably the kind of beer that really shoudl just be served on handpump, because it was unimpressive from the bottle. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2008 12 oz. "Pennant Ale ’55," best by Oct. 08. Nice amber ale color, spongy tan head. Smell is of caramel malts. Taste is sharp with spicy, mostly English hop matched to crystal toasted malts. No ale-type esters, in fact this suggests some cold lagering. Bit of an alt profile toward the end. Tejas (704), Dallas, Texas, USA
