Malty orangy bready aroma. Caramel orange flavor with very mild tabacco bitterness. Medium body and carbo. Eh. I don’t expect it will win the pennant of beer. mrant (330), New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 27, 2008 Smells of nice lightly roasted malts and fresh floral hops. Pours a nice light clear copper with a nice pillowy white head. Taste is just like it smells, a perfect balance of roasted malts and fresh sour/bitter hops. Reminds me of their brooklyn lager, but an ale. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2008 Pours an amber in the SNPA mold with a fleeting white head, shrinking to the suggestion of a film. The nose is very fruity, more so than hoppy or malty. A hint of DMS? It’s hard not for that to be in there though, with little to cover it up. Some toast. Perhaps better than average body with some decent creaminess and small even bubbles. Fruity, like in the nose, and creamy to boot. This is a bit on the toasty side, but the real flaw is a sizeable dose of both DMS and diacetyl. The diacetyl is a bit nice in terms of the buttery texture, but the flavor is off. The DMS just doesn’t really belong. A long lingering fruity finish. Eh, perhaps not bad for the style, but I won’t be buying one of these in the future. molsonfan9000 (59), geneva, New York, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Small malted nose, almost nothing there. Amber orange with small white head. Some carbonation. This brew has a long dry ending. Appears that this is the only thing of note. Does impart a slight bitter warming on the palate. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a thin white head. Mostly a biscuity malt aroma with a hint of hops in the back. Lightly carbonated. Taste of mostly toasty malts with a very light earthy hop finish. A very subdued pale - I had assumed it was an amber. Too lw-key for my tastes. wmtribesman (21), Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Bottle of Pennant ’55 poured into a pint glass. Translucent amber with a large, large head that sticks around. Aroma is quite hoppy, but more sour hoppy than bitter hoppy. The flavor has notes of wheat bread and sour hops. Not bad, but lacking a good hoppy bite. Not a winter beer at all. I could see it being extremely refreshing on a 90 degree day though. mansquito (843), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Pours a fairly dark amber color with a nice frothy white head, which lasts for a rather long time. Pretty bitchin’ aroma... hops. Bready, slightly metallic, some happy hoppy tastes in there too. Not really bitter. Some grassy taste in there too. A pretty good session.
