The aroma was somewhat bland. It had maybe some ligth spice. The flavor had some hops but was lacking. The palate was okay, nothing special. The finish was somewhat metalic. Poured a dark amber with a thin off white head that managed to hold onto a thin cap for 2/3rds. Malty vanilla caramel aroma. Light floral hop too. Toasty malt flavour with a clean bitter finish. A little watery around the edges as a general impression. Enjoyed it more as I drank it. Maybe I was expecting something much different since it was not labelled Pale Ale. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma of molasses and metallic-pine hops. Flavor is metallic caramel, and has that twang of something that I hate in Bass (the yeast or the fuggles maybe). Palate is pretty smooth, light-medium, and dryish. Has flavor, just not any that stroke my taste buds the right way. A lot better than Bass is about the best I can say about it. Carbonation looks good... I like the initial bitterness of this beer...but it does not last long on the tongue. Decent beer that I will drink again..although nothing out of this world but better than average. bbbrew (183), Washington DC, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Pours a coppery amber with a small but lasting foam ring and a hoppy & soapy aroma. Nice bitterness, but the odd carbonation instantly reminded me of tonic water, and I could even detect a note of lime in the hops. Chalky dry aftertaste, and a thin but creamy body. The odd tonic-water carbonation and the soapy aroma make this an odd beer, and definitely not my favourite Brooklyn. emacgee (1872), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Poured a standard amber with a medium thickness creamy light yellow head. The aroma was sweet, some caramel, hops evident. Fairly one dimensional. The flavor was a pretty even balance between hop and malt, light bitterness, sweetness, metallic bitterness. The palate was mild and slight waxy. Not a bad beer, just an easy drinker.
