Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Pretty average overall. Rich amber coloring, but almost no head or noticable aroma. Smooth but not very hoppy and not very bitter. Exactly what makes this an English Pale, I don’t know. Drinkable but boring.

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear amber body with a medium-sized, white head. Smell: Pleasing aroma of sweet-smelling toasted malts, saltines, and gentle flowery hops. Taste: Sweet, smooth bread dough flavor with a bit of toasted grains. Hops are fairly light and provide a bit of citrus as well as some floral notes. Ends with a softened finish that’s both lightly sweet and bitter. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin bodied. Mild carbonation. Drinkability: Oh! Oh, I say! This reminds me of the Acme Pale Ale I had earlier today.

Caramel and honey aroma. Clear dark copper pour with a medium light tan head and good lacing. Singularly and strongly metalllic flavor. Faint hop finish that gets better during warming.

Malty aroma, with an orange-brown color. The taste is faintly malty and hoppy, but overall the flavor here is fairly weak. Not the best pale ale or the best offering from Brooklyn.

Biscuit like aroma. Picked up a slight alcohol smell. Wirerd considering it’s not high in alcohol. Nice red/gold appearance. Flavor has a hop bite to it, mostly a bread/malty flavor. The mouthfeel is a medium thickness. Finish is a little abrupt, doesn’t linger. Nice beer for its type.

12 oz bottle: Pours a dark golden color with a large sized foamy white head. Aroma has some really nice malt textures coming off of it at first. A note of hop backing is nice as well with a citrus scent intermingled. Somewhat nutty as well. Taste is mostly sweet and lightly malty with some discernible hop characteristics that are melded together with the malts to make a wonderful brew. You can make more of a hop note in the palate though as it lingers on the back of your tongue. A completely balanced brew! Overall, Pretty darn good stuff. Glad it’s my #420!!!

Alias "Brooklyn Pennant Ale ’55." Has the typical golden yellow ale color, not much of a head. Aroma is pleasant and inviting with a strong fruity hint. Flavor is malty with a touch of fruit and just a whisper of hop bitterness. This ale is very smooth but just a little bit on the watery side.
