Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Boy did I buy into the stores marketing this as a new beer rather than just a new label. Very drinkable beer. Good balance of malts and hops. Malt is a little sweet for me and fuggles are not my favorite hop but this one works for me.

Bottle. This is probably my favorite Brooklyn beer. It’s full of sweet, bready malt, but it also gives a decent amount of hoppiness. The first one’s very good, the fifth one’s excellent.

It’s a decent beer, but not really anything to set it apart from other similar beers. Its got some taste, but not really much going on here.

Sweet mild malt aroma. Rusty dary copper with a very thin head. Sweet malts with mild hop notes. Mild bitter finish.

On tap at the brewery. Poured golden with a diminishing white head. Piney nose, malty flavor. A solid beer.

I love the fact that I can get the Pennant Ale ’55 at the bodega across the street from my house. This is a great, light ale and goes well with BBQ.
