Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Well, it looks nice: copper body with loose off white head. Aroma’s a little bland, nutty with sweet caramel. The flavor echoes with caramel followed by a small hop kick. Not bad, but not something I’ll seek again.

Bottle at beerbistro. Clear copper with a good sized white head. Aroma is mainly malty, with some toast and caramel, and some tingly hops coming up behind. Good mouthfeel - not too light, not too heavy. Well balanced flavour, perhaps a bit too sweet off the top, but with some good herbal hop notes in the finish. Nothing outstanding, just a solid, unassuming ale.

2006 Pennant Ale 55 bottle. Pours a translucent golden amber with a foamy off white head that left some lace. Aroma of citrus hops, grainy malt, some fruits, nuts and toasty. Flavor was toasty, nutty with some light hop bitterness, fruits and taste of metallic.

Pennant Ale has a cooler sound to it. Dark copper. Faint head. Weak chemical plastic scent. Tastes like it smells. Not much for hops and a watery malt flavour. Does not do anythiing for me.

12oz brown bottle. Labelled as Pennant ale ’55. Bright orange colour, small tan head, creamy. Aroma is crackery, light malt. Flavour is toasty, biscuity malt, slightly fruity, trace caramel malt. Light hop notes, citrusy. Light bitterness in the finish. Body is light, medium carbonation.

Wheat, biscuit aroma. Flavor is biscuity with nice and smooth malts. Thick mouthfeel, and finishes smooth. Not very bitter hops, but I think the malts are the real show here. Its pretty thick for a 5%. Makes your stomach feel full, and its easy to make a session out of.

amber in color. Aroma: floral hops and caramel malts. Taste is sweet caramel, light citrus/floral hops, with a dose of sweet, and smooth caramel malt in the finish. not a bad EPA.
