A gorgeous beer on pour. Nice frothy off white head, crystal clear cooper color.
The nose is malty with definite biscuit aromas and more diacelyl than I prefer in a beer. Hop aroma is low but evident.
A bit over carbonated which makes this ale a refreshing quaff but with a tangy not creamy mouth feel. Medium to light bodied, well attenuated.
A well balanced palate with decent bitterness. Hop flavor is restrained. Malt flavor is ther but diacetyl rears its ugly head once again and lingers through the finish. A bit one dimensional relying too much on biscuit flavors with too little caramel. Some carbonic tang through the finish.
A nice beer that hits all of the marks but it seems to be a bit road weary. Reminds me too much of New Castle Brown Ale with all the diacetyl. Yes, this style can have some diacetyl, but there is much more than expected in this example. I will chalk the flaws up to a hard trip from Brooklyn to Central Iowa via Chicago. I must get to the brewery to sample this on tap.

had a distinct biscuity-pale-malt TsT1T2 but faded very quickly into a nicely-balanced citrus-hop T2T3Tf.
great with a burger or fish&chips.
the pale ale that finally convinced me that maybe the style isn’t all bad, and even made it my go-to style when i’m thirsty.

Dec 13, 2009 Brown-orange with a decent head. Floral aroma and a nice malty flavour to begin with, biscuit-like, before the bitternes sets in.

Dec 4, 2009 This 12 oz bottle was courtesy of Joe McPhee. Pours an attractive looking clear amber with a large foamy off-white head that left good lacing rings. Nose was malts with floral and grassy hops. Body is medium with average carbonation. Flavor is actually milder than the aroma would promise and was basically caramel malts and some light bitterness that carries over to the finish. This would make an excellent session brew.

Dec 1, 2009 Really malty for such a light color. This has a fruity and chewy flavor and mouthfeel, and hardly any bitterness. I could down tons of this. Very Good. Bottle from Total Wine and More, Naples, Florida.

Nov 30, 2009 Beer pours out a with a redish amber hue and a light fluffy off white head that quickly shrinks down to almost nothing. The aroma is sweet and slightly fruity with a light toasty smell from the malt. Overall, the aroma is light and pleasant. The body is light with very little carbonation and a slick mouth feel. A slightly bitter flavor with light notes of hops though it is rather lacking in a longevity. The brew looks nice but has almost no body or substance, quickly diminishing into a watery rather bland beer.

Nov 22, 2009 Deep amber with a thin cream head. Nose is bready malts and caramel. Nice on the palate with a big bready malt flavor and a caramel/nut finish.

Nov 14, 2009 Creamy malt aroma with a crystal clear copper amber color. Great bready malt flavor with a touch of hops at the end. Overall, this is nice to drink, a good session brew.
