Commercial Description:
This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

Bottle. Pours a near black with a nice dark tan head. Aroma is sweet chocolate and roasted coffee. Flavor is malt, sweet chocolate and maybe a touch of vanilla in the background. A slight bitter finish and a touch of alcohol. Dry and a full body.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Ahh... One of the greatest imperial stouts I’ve had so far. Only beaten by Närke Kaggen (I also have high hopes for Old Rasputin though wich I wil drink in June...). Very powerful beer with lots of caramel and chocolate flavours (of course). Excellent!

12 oz bottle, vintage ’04-’05. Opaque dark brown to near black with a ruby glow. Low lasting creamy espresso head. Inviting aroma of cocoa, dark chocolate, rum&raisin and vanilla. Taste has delicate sweet and roasted maltiness together with light acidic dark fruits, bitter chocolate and salty licorice. Fine bitterness with earth and wood notes. Full-bodied. Bitter-sweet-acidic chocolate finish. Awesome!

Shared with Pyrozoid. Very dark poor with a small brown head. Aromas of sweet chocolate, licorice, chocolate malts, dark cherries, prunes with hints of freshly roasted coffee beans. Creamy, thick, lactose induced, full bodied mouthfeel. Fantastic balance... with just the right bitterness and a good long lasting sweetness. Coffee like aftertaste, chocolaty and roasted malts complete the flavors. Very good Impy overall.

Dégusté avec french tickler) Biere tres noir avec un beau collet moyennement collant. Odeur d’alcohol, cerises noir, melasse, chocolat. Saveur crémeuse, café, chocolat, caramel, cerises noir. Ue excellente stout!

Black pour with a fluffy tan head. Strong chocolate and cocoa aroma. Flavor was chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, and dark cherry. Finished very creamy, slightly boozy finish.

Chocolate aroma and taste obvious, coffee too. Smooth but initially a little too one dimensional in taste; less complex than I’d hoped for. The strength ’tastes’ but after the beer has been in the glass a while the taste mellows. One slowly consumed is recommended.

Bottle, Beers of Europe. Well this sho is a popular rate ! Les’see whut all de fuss about then....Pours black as the ace of spades with a decent broon head. Aroma is raisin, molasses, malt; flavour is packed to the brim with plum. dark chocolate, christmas pudding, coffee. Smooth and full bodied as it slides down. Meaty and satisfying. Yep, can see what all de fuss aboot. Very good.
