Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 20, 2003 A black beer with a chocolate brwon head unfortunatly it disappears quite fast. The aroma is nice; sweet, smoked, and acidic. The flavor is fantastic; smooth, yet powerful, chocolate, smoke, dryness and woodyness - gives it character. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 16, 2002 Dark black with creamy brownish head. Roasty chocolate aroma, softly malty, full bodied. Lots of salty liquorice and dark chocalte in the palate. Bitter finish. A thoroughly well made and tasty beer. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 21, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Vintage 2005 at 8.25% ABV. Pitch black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head leaving a pretty curtain of laces. Sweetish aroma of chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied, a little low in carbonation. Rich notes of roasted and lightly burned malt with distinct accents of chocolate and vanilla. Subdued bitterness with a discreet underlying acidity. One of the more rounded and mellow Imperial Stouts. 191007 Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Nov 28, 2000 Updated: Mar 14, 2004Whoa. This is one intensely fruity beer, with stacks of dark malt. A meal. (Well, it was. A fresh sample on March 1, 2004...brewed at FX Matt, btw...well, it was thin, astringent and borderline undrinkable). Another sample two weeks later, taken from the same batch, was closer to the way I remember it - maybe a little thin and lifeless but not nearly as awful. joergen (6240), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 11, 2005 Updated: Feb 27, 2006Black colour with a nice creamy head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Powerfull flavour with lots of malt, dark chocolate and roasted notes (coffee), nice bitterness.
