Commercial Description:
This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

Robust aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and molasses. Poured a thick pitch black.Nice tan foamy head that slowly receded into and thick creamy cap that never went away. Left great lacing. The taste was fantastic!!! Taste of roasted malt, rich black chocolate, hint of molasses, burnt malt, coffee with slight alchohol flavor. Full bodied, thick, creamy, smooth and oily texture with soft carbonation with a chocolate coffee finish that is long and slightly, yet pleasantly bitter. This is a great Stout! It is strong, with great flavor and when you drink one you know it with 10.6 ABV. The only problem is one is so fullfilling I don’t need another one till much later.... and thats not bad for that means I really enjoyed it and when done was was not left desiring more. :) Served in a Pint. Bottle says it was from the 06-07 winter. IF you like strong Imperial Stouts, definitely give this one a try. This is one of my favorites.

12 oz. bottle in trade from MaltOMeal- thanks! Served in tumbler- poured blacker than midnight in a bad thunderstorm, low-medium carbonation, 4mm tan head formed and stayed for a couple of smokes. Aroma of hearty dark chocolate, coffee that’s been sitting on the pot for 24 hours, and roasted malt. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt is heavy and full of attitude, roasted characteristics make themselves known very easily with notes of smoke in the background, all around very clingy on the cheeks, finish creeps away slowly. Damn right!

On tap at Pocono Brewing Company. Black pour with a small brown head. Rich chocolatey, roasted aroma. Outstanding flavor, deep deep chocolate and perfectly roasted. Just a really great beer.

Looks very appetizing, and the aroma i s very rich with hints of coffee and chocolate. The after-taste is a bit too sharp and powerfull to give it a better grade, but all in all a very good imperial stout.

Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is the same with a smooth, rich palate.
