Commercial Description:
Barrel-aged in Woodford Reserve bottles. Brooklyn Black Ops does not exist. However, if it did exist, it would be a robust stout concocted by the Brooklyn brewing team under cover of secrecy and hidden from everyone else at the brewery. Supposedly, "Black Ops" was aged for four months in bourbon barrels, bottled flat, and re-fermented with Champagne yeast, creating big chocolate and coffee flavors with a rich underpinning of vanilla-like oak notes. They say there are only 1000 cases. We have no idea what they’re talking about.

Brooklyn Black Ops is a very nice imperial stout. While way too expensive and hard to find, this beer is full of chocolate and coffee. The color is a deep black with a thin mocha head. A literal meal-in-a-glass.

Via a trade with someone a while back. Pours with a oily black body covered by a dark brown, creamy head. Aroma of chocolate, fudge and alcohol. Taste is great with chocolate fudge, cocoa powder and tons of chocolate, alcohol and vanilla. Syrupy mouthfeel with light bubbles.

Bottle at home Huge thanks to my Secret Santa for this one ... with Jan and Charlotte ... deep solid black ... huge brown foam head ... light coconut and roast malt nose ... nice smooth chocolate roast ... oh so soft and gentle ... rich complex ... but no one thing dominates... hides the alcohol well ...

well thanks to Puzzl who i now know to be my secret santa, and to SanTaFun for a 2nd... and to some one else for a third... deep black ... thin tan head .... soft roast malts little coffee nose ... barrel spirit ... lots of coffee a bit more bitter than i rember ... nice but not hitting the spot the same way 4.2

Bottle from Jimbo. Big nose, and a nice looking beer, but I kind of found the flavors in this beer to be a little lifeless. I guess my expectations for a BA Imperial Stout would be that everything would be over the top. I barely got any oak flavors. Still, pretty nice.

25.4 oz bottle. Dark brown with a smooth tan head. Rich, chocolate mousse tempts me before i go down for a sniff. Circus peanuts, the candy, coffee, vanilla and bourbon round out the sensory delight. Not quite full body with buzzy carb. Taste is intense but kept somewhat in check. Coffee, tar, molasses, bitter licorice and just enough bourbon.

750 ml bottle via trade with Brigadier - Pours a dark brown color with a one and a half finger thick light brown head that slowly fades. Nice lacing. Aroma is oak/bourbon, chocolate, roasted malt and vanilla. All the aromas mess well without one particular component being over bearing. Flavor is much of the same with a little more oak/bourbon presence. Alcohol is quite noticeable in the finish. Medium to full body. A very nice beer. Thanks Nathan.

Shared at HSBG. Pour is pitch oily black with a creamy brown head. Aromas of burbon, chocolate, roasted malts, and slight coffee. Flavor is loaded with burbon, chocolate, and roasty goodness. This brew is extremly drinkable and smooth. The burbon flavor was prerfect. Amazing!
