Very heady hop nose (lime, resin, kumquat, grapefruit). Somewhat full and yeasty body. Kumquat, pine and seabreeze notes are almost cologne-like. Both sweet and hoppy...a fairly unique characteristic. Distinctive, and extremely American. Crit (2405), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2007 The aroma was fruity with a nice presence of pineapple and tropical fruits coupled to some caramel and even a bit of spice. The beer arrived cloudy golden with a moussy white tall head which lasted till the end to lace the glass. The flavor was a very nice malty sweetness on the front end with a fruity character and a light bit of spice on the back. Some alcohol was notable in the flavor. Tropical fruits and more pineapple hop characteristics dominated and the bittering kept everything in check. The finish was dry with a nice pepper/spice into the aftertaste. the body was medium-full with a moderate level of carbonation and a creamy texture on the palate. Some light alcohol warming was notable. A darn nice beer! Pint at Barley’s in Greenville. BDR (2160), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 30, 2007 Floral and haylike hops are joined by a round sweetness of lightly toasted malts and plenty of fruits - citrus hops blending with yeasty esters suggesting mango, tangerine, pineapples.Opaque body is easily forgivable considering the cask had only just arrived from it’s transcontinental journey. Yellow tan coloured body is topped by a dense, fine bubbled, creamy white head that lasts throughout and Leaves some nice lacing. At first sip, the hops seem to dominate but they are quickly joined by that full sweet, round, bready, toasty malt character. No shock and awe here, this is the real deal. Floral, citrus and pine hop flavours offer more nuance rather than being up front. Doughy malt character is strong but balances well with the pronounced bitterness. Some alcohol is notable in the finish but again it’s harmonious to the main flavours. This one is all about balance. Medium-full body with gentle, sparkling effervescence that is strong enough to display the flavours and interest in the mouth without harming the creamy smooth texture. Absolutely fantastic. Wonder if I’ll ever have a chance to sample an aged version of this beer? Delightful. Yes, I will have another please and thankyou! Sampled on cask at The Whip. puzzl (2620), New York, New York, USA

Bold citrus aroma, lightly eggy with a little salt. Huge, beautiful head into the Brooklyn stemware. Very quaffable, with sweet fresh summer fruits and a mild hop finish. Light bitterness. Delicious. Comments: Strong hoppy and quite straightforward, undeniably American in hop sharpness. Initially quite smooth, but its citrus onslaught eventually becomes a bit overly acidic for my tastes. Well named.
