Aroma: Sweet grapefruit & juicy citrus hops, some pine, and yeast
Appearance: Nice golden color, white head
Flavor: Yeasty malts up-front, big hoppy flavor in the middle and end palates
Palate: Smooth, drinks nicely, and a nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression:
I thought this beer was really nice. Got a really juicy citrus/grapefruit nose straight from the cask, and I really just liked the way it drank and tasted quite a bit. Big, but not huge, hop flavor for a IIPA. A nicely crafted beer.

Blast is a hazy yellow ale with a developed off-white head. The aroma is full of bitter hops and the flavor has notes of citrus. This beer was more bitter than I was looking for and would have been more enjoyable with food. Ron (1038), Rochester, New York, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Brooklyn Blast is a slightly hazy lighter golden ale with a bubbly off-white head. The retention and lacing are good. It has a huge tangerine aroma, like Simcoe hops or something. It’s medium bodied that’s lively and smooth, with a pretty clean, dry finish. It’s well bittered and balanced well with the slightly sweet malt. Very citrusy.

Especially considering I just tried a standard IPA before this one. Well balanced. Will have to retry this one later. DaSilky1 (2022), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Hazed yellow, firm and tight off-white suds. Nose of fresh hops, grapefruit, crystalized hop buds, maybe even a touch of unripe mango. Firm hoppy flavor profile, definitely damn straight grapefruit and dry...maybe even some other fruits underneath...overall though, nicely dry and super hoppy. I dig. setauketone (10), setauket, New York, USA

Nose is hopped, but I wouldn’t say overly powerful. Flavor is hopped, yes. You get the pine tones and that syrup like flavor quality to it. But is stays smooth and even and never goes over the line. Feel is thick on liquid and good on the bubble. Overall a verysmooth DIPA and well worth trying. If you want smooth and even and well crafted, this is more your style.

Pours bright golden, hazy with mostly receding wispy off-white head. Notes of mango, pine, citrus, herbs and fresh hop resins. Full bodied, moderately resinous with lively carbonation. Very fresh hop flavor, quite delicious.
