Draft at Hot Shotz, Indianapolis, IN. Small head that mostly diminished, fair amount of lacing, transparent, and a golden and orange hue. Nose was caramel, hoppy, citrus, and some pine. Ditto for the flavor, but the taste of this beer seemed off for the style and where were all the hops for the style??? Meh. Tingly mouthfeel and medium in body. Definitely a different taste given the style and didn’t taste quite as fresh as it should have been.

On draught at Tyler’s in Carrboro. Aroma is mostly buttery, with some cotton candy, and w a very mild citrus and pine hop character. Pours a deep orange golden with a small white lace. Flavor is equally disappointing and buttery with not too much bitterness or caramel malt backbone to speak of. I remember trying this one a few months ago at this same location. I wonder if this is the same keg because this doesn’t taste fresh at all. Big meh. Will have to taste again fresh.

Draft at Hot Shotz in Indy - Aroma of sour lemon and citrus hops with pine sap and a fair amount of yeastiness. Pours cloudy orange with a small head and good lacing. Flavor of pine, chewy sour citrus hops and earthy caramel malt. A bit astringent. Palate is sticky and tart. Different and drinkable, but there was just a little too much sour for a DIPA that made it feel out of place.

Draft @ Pizzeria Paradiso - Georgetown. Pours a hazy, yellow-orange color; textured white head with solid retention and fine-bubbled lacing that sticks. Solid amounts of resiny, dripping wet hops and citrus; a bit watery on the edges. Average carbonation. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: sticky, resiny citrus and yellow fruits and some dustiness; plenty of zest and bitterness, and a bit of lingering basic sugar at the core. Medium finish: bread, citrus, dust and some hop numbness on the tongue.

Draft pint at Bierra Paradiso. Gold clear body, white head. Sweet pineapple and pear scented hop aroma, aggressive bitterness with some cane sugar, starch, and a light presence of Belgian yeast. Not exactly sure what to think of this, it sits somewhere between American Double IPA and a Belgian golden strong ale, with a bit of juniper berries and sugary fruit cocktail thrown in the mix.

At the brewery. Good looking clear amber-orange with an orangy head. Nose of fruity hops (grape, apple, pear, some citrus but not as overpowering as in other IIPAs). Would have liked stronger hop aroma. Flavor much the same, quite bitter with a long dry finish.

(draught) hazy light amber with generous off white head. PINE! in the aroma Flavor is pine and grassy hops. Still well balanced. I would have called this an imperial IPA
