| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 2, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Simple toasted caramel sweetness and earthy, peppery hop bitterness perform in a creamy mouthfeel for a well-built but perhaps underwhelming Old Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tower of foam protects the dark russet.
-The demerara sugar seems to offer more flavor in this one than the malts themselves.
-Faint cocoa is also detectable.
-Alcohol is not an issue at all even though this is over the 8% mark.
-The flavor profile is ably balanced.
