On tap at HDG. Smells like vanilla andpopcorn. Not the best of starts. The taste is of unmilled malts. I like this beer especially the subtly of the use of the hop.

Draught @ Goodbar. Gold, thin white head. Nose is light butter, doughy malt, a hint of spring flowers & fruit. Flavor is wonderful raw malt (very clean), a hint of bublegummy fruit and a light summer breeze of hops. More of that dough/malt in the finish. Awesome!

Had on draft poured to a golden color with a small white head.Aromas were of citrus, hops. The taste also had citrus and biscuit, similar to some pilsner styles, with a dry finish. Not too bad.

On tap where I work. Crystal clear gold pour. Aroma of hops, tropical fruit and grains. More of the same on palate with a smooth, buttery flavor that actually works well here with the wheaty kind of flavor. Hoppy and balanced. Alcohol undetectable. Dry finish that cleans up well. An interesting ale.

Tap at Brooklyn Brewery. Strong golden in color with a white lacy head. The aroma is very citrusy with a big hoppyness. There is a big hop character to the flavor with a strong bite. It is a really good example of a strong ale in my opinion.

On tap at Tyler’s, Durham. A nice surprise, this one. Poured into a snifter, it’s a lovely golden color with moderate carbonation. A bright floral aroma is immediately apparent, and this is borne out in the tasting, with a real hop vibrancy and a quirky but winning finish of tropical fruits and a tad of butter. Combines the perky qualities of a fine pilsner with the flavor of a nice Belgian blonde. English strong ale? Why not?!

draft- definite sweetness and ester quality that my wife really enjoyed. Nice full mouthfeel. A smooth drinking strong ale, that is worth looking into.

pint @ Tyler’s Durham. Good aroma, sweet. Doughy, cheese danish, butter, minor grass streak. Clean golden orange color, good head & lacing. Sweet bitter flavor, More sweet than bitter. Lite body, thin creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Huh liked this more than I was expecting, Very enjoyable.
